04/10/2009 · TMK, you do not purchase FIOS boxes, but rent them. If you want to buy, I would say a TiVo HD, you you need to subscribe tot he TiVo service also, but it is well worth it IMHO. Outside of that, any other video recorder will work, such as DVD recorders, VCRs, or PC based DVR solutions.
